McHenry County Young Republicans Formally Chartered

The McHenry County Young Republicans became a formal, chartered organization at a celebration Wednesday, September 3, 2008 at the McHenry County Republican Party Campaign Headquarters in Crystal Lake.  After formally adopting a temporary Constitution and By Laws, which are good for six months and must be supplanted by a permanent document developed by the new group, the Young Republicans elected their first slate of officers.  Brian Javor was elected Chairman, Erica Poremba was made Vice Chairman, Greg Austin filled the Treasurer's slot and Garret Hill was named Secretary.

County Chairman Mike Tryon addressed the crowd of Young Republicans and many somewhat older Republicans who filled the room.  "I'm excited," said Tryon. "This new group is the future of our Party."  Former County Chairman, Bill LeFew, who contributed the first dollars to the organization, added another $500 contribution at the signing ceremony.
